Inner Balance Wellness

At Inner Balance Wellness, our mission is to help you move better, feel better, and function at your highest potential. We take a whole-person approach to care, combining chiropractic, functional neurology, and holistic wellness strategies to address the root cause of symptoms — not just the symptoms themselves.

We understand that every patient is unique. Whether you are dealing with chronic pain, neurological symptoms, injury recovery, or performance optimization, our goal is to create individualized care plans tailored to your body, your goals, and your lifestyle. Through detailed assessments and evidence-informed care, we work to restore balance within the nervous system and musculoskeletal system so your body can heal and perform the way it was designed to.

At Inner Balance Wellness, we believe healing happens when patients feel heard, understood, and empowered. We are committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a supportive environment where education and collaboration are key parts of the healing process.

Samantha Trainor, D.C

Dr. Samantha Trainor is a chiropractor and Myosynaptics practitioner who graduated from Life University. She is dedicated to helping patients understand their bodies and regain confidence in their health. She blends intuition with evidence-based techniques to take a whole-person approach, focusing on the nervous system, movement, and lifestyle factors that influence pain, dizziness, performance, and overall well-being.

With advanced training in Functional Neurology, Neuroemotional Technique, and Myosynaptics, Dr. Trainor’s care is individualized, evidence-informed, and goal-oriented. She believes healing starts with listening, education, and addressing the root cause—not just managing symptoms.

A New Jersey native, Dr. Trainor has a deep love and appreciation for the ocean and the outdoors. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys running with her partner and friends, as well as staying active through snowboarding, wake surfing, hiking, and other outdoor adventures. Her passion for movement and performance carries into her clinical work, where she helps patients get back to doing the activities they love.

Techniques

Myosynaptics

The MyoSynaptics technique is an advanced clinical approach that blends myofascial therapy, neuro-rehabilitation, and functional movement science to help restore optimal body mechanics, reduce pain, and improve nervous system function. It was developed by Dr. Marc Ellis, D.C., MSc, NMT, DACNB, FACFN, FABBIR, to bridge the relationship between the connective tissues of the body (fascia) and the nervous system, empowering clinicians to address both structural and neurological contributors to dysfunction.

At its core, MyoSynaptics emphasizes precise assessment and hands-on techniques that target fascial restrictions, neuromuscular imbalances, and motor pattern dysfunctions that may underlie persistent pain, movement limitations, or neurological symptoms. This method integrates deep anatomical understanding with applied neuroscience to support lasting change beyond symptom relief.

Functional Neurology

Functional Neurology is a brain-centered, patient-focused healthcare approach designed by Dr. Frederick Carrick, D.C., Ph.D. This technique combines a multidisciplinary approach allowing us to measure the integrity of the nervous system and functional brain health. It does so through a series of motor and sensory testing as well as autonomic measures such as pupillary dilation, blood pressure, heart rate and more. These measures allow us to cater our therapies to the threshold of the patient in front of us one each day of treatment.

Functional Neurology is built on the basis of neuroplasticity. Through our exam we measure regions of the brain that may be experiencing functional defcitis and use an assortment of therapies to target those regions and build stronger connections and better function.

It gives us additional insight about the root cause of your complaint. Is your neck pain coming from a local issue such as subluxation or misalignment, or is it coming from a vestibular deficit that is causing a constant head rotation and inadequate muscle firing? These are the constant questions we seek to answer to provide long-term lasting results for our patients.

Applied Kinesiology (AK)

Applied Kinesiology is a non-invasive, holistic diagnostic system developed by Dr. George Goodheart in 1964 that uses manual muscle testing to evaluate the structural, chemical, and mental aspects of health. It operates on the principle that specific muscles correlate with specific organs, glands, or bodily functions, using, for example, acupuncture meridians. Treatments may include chiropractic adjustments, nutrition, myofascial therapies, or lifestyle counseling.

Neuro-emotional Technique (NET)

NeuroEmotional Technique (NET) is a mind-body approach designed to help identify and resolve unresolved stress patterns that may contribute to physical symptoms, emotional tension, and nervous system imbalance. NET is based on the understanding that the brain, body, and emotions are deeply interconnected — and that unresolved stress responses can influence how the nervous system and musculoskeletal system function.

NET uses a structured, evidence-informed process that combines principles from chiropractic, neuroscience, and psychophysiology to evaluate how the body responds to emotional stress. By assessing physiological responses using the manual muscle test, combined with  correlations to the TCM meridian points, practitioners aim to locate areas where stress may be stored within the body.

The goal of NeuroEmotional Technique is not to relive emotional experiences, but to help the nervous system reprocess stress in a safe, non-invasive way, allowing the body to move out of persistent “fight or flight” patterns and into improved regulation and balance. Many patients report improvements not only in physical discomfort, but also in emotional resilience, clarity, and overall well-being.

NET is commonly used as a complementary approach for individuals experiencing chronic pain, stress-related symptoms, tension patterns, or lingering symptoms that do not fully resolve with structural care alone. By addressing the neurological and emotional components of health together, NeuroEmotional Technique supports a more comprehensive and integrative healing process.

Patient Stories

Patient Stories showcase the inspiring journeys of individuals who have regained their health and mobility through our chiropractic care. These real-life experiences highlight the positive impact of our personalized treatments and the dedication of our team.

"Dr. Sam has been such a gift. Her approach is incredibly thoughtful and holistic chiropractic care combined with neurology, emotional work, and muscle/fascial work. I always feel seen and supported.

Since working with her, my energy has improved so much, my headaches and migraines have decreased, and I feel way less fatigued. I’ve also noticed a big improvement in my focus and mental clarity, which has been huge for me.
She’s incredibly knowledgeable and intuitive, and you can tell she truly understands how the nervous system and body work together. I’m so grateful for her care and highly recommend her."
After my MVA, I experienced some full body whiplash, associated with a mild concussion that really had affects on my quality of life. After seeing many specialists, Dr Trainer was the first person who understood my situation. She understood my chronic pain very well. Every appointment was very tailored, and specific for my condition which I much appreciated! After a few sessions, I started to feel like myself again. The pain was diminishing. I had symptoms like light sensitivity, clumsiness, headaches, vertigo, that now are completely resolved. She’s amazing!!!
"Dr. Trainor is one of the most intelligent, kind, and compassionate people you will ever meet. She really takes her time to listen and get to the root of your issues. I went to several different doctors for years, MDs, Neurologists, ENT's and many others before I found Dr. Trainor and she was able to help me in ways no one else could. 10/10 would recommend!"
